I’ve always held the opinion that Tom Morello is one of the greatest guitarists of our generation. His work with Rage Against the Machine is unparalleled, and his unorthodox techniques are hard for acts to emulate. But Morello realized he was needed somewhere else — on the mic.
Starting in 2003, Morello has been taking on the persona of The Nightwatchman in an effort to become a protest voice for the masses. He performs nationwide at protests and movements. He recently played for union works in Wisconsin protesting Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s union-busting bill. His voice is rich, and his guitar work is intricate.
