The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its inductees for 2012.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns N’ Roses, Beastie Boys and The Faces are among those who will be enshrined in the Hall. The full list of inductees can be found here.

RHCP, GNR and the Beastie Boys all found their first success in the 80s, and all three bands are still together (though they have all gone through varying degrees of hiatuses). For me, this certainly makes me feel old, as all three were big on the radio when I was growing up.

All three are deserving. GNR was hugely successful in a short time, landing eight top 40 hits in the span of 5 years. RHCP has sold 70 million albums worldwide and holds the record for most No. 1 singles on Billboard’s Modern Rock chart with 12. The Beastie Boys have long been influential for mixing of rap, hip-hop, funk and alternative rock and for their wacky personalities and music videos. They’ve sold 22 million albums in the U.S.

Congrats to all of the Hall of Fame’s new members.
